Aloha from chapter #25
In Hawaii, the month of May is very busy month. First of all May 1st is the “May Day is Lei Day” and lei making contest, May Day Queen’s court presenting hula dance and other performances.
There are graduations going on, and craft fairs toward “Mother’s Day” the May 9th. There was partial road closure on the Sunday, the 16th for Tri-athlon. And May 31st is the Memorial day and we will be participating at both Mayoral service at Cemetery of the Pacific and Governor’s service at State Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. May General Meeting was held at Kaneohe Marine Base, Koa Malina, known for K-Bay O’s Club.
Our speaker for this month was RAdm. Bruce Smith, gave us updates on our benefits.
June luncheon is scheduled at Sam Snead restaurant at Navy Marine Golf course near NEX.
By the way since Navy and Air force in pacific have merged now the
Military Star Card is handled by AAFES, Dallas, TX. Currently, both NEX and AAFE are in sort of mess due to relocating merchandise, renovating old section of building and etc.
